Miniature Antique Manicure Set
This gorgeous miniature manicure set is from the 1920s. Only 10 cms in length, it unscrews at each end to reveal a tiny set of tools for grooming nails. They include an implement for cleaning under the nails, scissors, a nail file and a tool for pushing back cuticles. Each little tool screws into the top to create a ready and easy to use device.
The other end reveals a small container of a tightly packed white substance resmebling chalk. This was used to scrape under the nails as it was fashionable at the time to have a white edge to the fingernails.
This gorgeous little maniucre set has been decorated in a black botanical design, which could place it in the art nouveau era. It would have been carried around in the handbag, ready for those little emergencies. A rare find indeed!
